Robert Malkowski served with the United States Marine Corps from 1948-1952 during the Korean War. For health reasons, Robert resided in Charlotte, North Carolina from October 1984 – November 1985 before returning to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he passed away. age 59 years, July 3, 1986. Beloved husband of Betty Malkowski. Dear father of John, Robin, and Kelly. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Private funeral services were held Wed. at Wood National Cemetery.

I was doing family geneology stuff online and stumbled upon this. Omg- how awesome! This is my dad and I loved him so very much. He passed away when I was 13yrs old. I live in Atlanta now, but went to visit all the family graves back in 1995; I went to visit his and placed a large, beautiful red rose on his grave in the snow. He’ll never be forgotten and always be loved. May he rest in peace. ~his little “Applehead,” Kelly

I really loved my dad. He was such a good and gentle man, but the wars really took a toll on him, namely the Korean War.
I want to thank you Brian for posting this page on my father, Robert James Malkowski, the father of John D. Malkowski (1952-present), Roberta Malkowski (1958-present), and myself, Kelly A. Malkowski (1973-present). He deserves it. He was such a beautiful, good, sassy, comical and all around fun guy in his prime days. He was a true Malkowski and fought for what he believed in. Bob (our father) will live on as one of the heroes in the “greatest generation” that ever lived, the WWII Era brethren. Bless you and thank you deeply Brian!
On further note, I dunno when our father’s first wife passed away, as she was 11 years older than him, but his second wife, my mother, 14 years younger than him, recently passed away in April 2002 from Pulmonary Cancer. I know he was there waiting for her in spirit when she passed on in hospice.

Walter Malkowski + Ann Glembin = Douglas Malkowski; Robert Malkowski (fraternal twins) born August 17, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI.
-Douglas died single, and after falling down the hard attic stairs, died from an aneurysm in 1965-67. Not sure on the date.
-Robert died in 1986 after serious complications due from severe diabetes.
Robert J. Malkowski + Juanita Wenzel = John Douglas Malkowski (Aug 7, 1952); later married Lynn ?; the union produced Rachel Lynn Malkowski born June 1985.
Robert J. Malkowski + Juanita Wenzel = Roberta ? Malkowski (Feb 22, 1958); has 2 children that I know of. One girl and one boy named Noah. Last I knew she was married to a Cuban with the surname of Cervantes.
Robert J. Malkowski + Betty Lou Steele (Newark, OH.) = Kelly Ann Malkowski (March 24, 1973); I have an adopted daughter I named Jessica Renee Malkowski (Dec 8, 1995); her father is Daniel Lee Holt. Her adoptive parents are unorthodox Jews who own one of the largest accounting companies here in Atlanta, GA. and are very wealthy, athletically active and well educated. She was later renamed Dana.

BTW, the video you posted on YouYube is amazing. I couldn’t help but get teary eyed. I am a serious WWII era nostalgic. I honor and THANK YOU for honoring these awesome men and their families for what they have contributed for the freedom we often take for granted in this country… thank-you so much from the bottom of my heart… for my dad and all those who served with him…. much respect and love. Just a final word here. I am an extremely PROUD Malkowski. I was so young and grew up with such an older generation of Malkowski’s. Hence, I learned to love and respect older tradition and our history as Polish Germans in this country. As one who has been “in tune” with music, like many of us were, we ALL loved music so much and I grew up with it accordingly. For many years, I have taken pride in loving music as what I listen to is quite a reflection of who I am and how I feel in terms of larger things; I get it from my father. My parents were no different, namely my father. He LOVED the old time Marines’ Drum & Bugle, along with lots of Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Blue Grass music. But here, I want to share something that takes me back to what his parents would have probably liked, of which I have listened to for years on end and decided long ago THIS particular song was our Malkowski family theme, namely in parting this earth. I dedicate it to ALL of my deceased relatives in honor and love…. and namely my father who sacrificed his life for the freedoms we have here in America. This is all. Kelly out! ~enjoy~
