Steven “Steve” Chesnik (December 24, 1924 – October 1, 2009)
Steve Chesnik worked for American Airlines and Otis Elevator. He is survived by two daughters, Janice and Connie. Originally from Brooklyn, Steve was a resident of Mastic Beach, New York.
What I could say about my dad is that he was the best dad. He never ever put any pressure on me. My dad was very proud of me. I looked up to him so much. I can’t tell you how much I miss him. Once I even picked up the phone to call him because I felt much better after.
My dad was the easiest man to get along with. What mattered most to him is that people worked for a living. He couldn’t stand people who wouldn’t work because of pure laziness. He loved the Knicks and the Mets. In the 90’s we hit alot of games together. Dad took me to my first Met game. Dad was the one who took me shopping for clothes and he did all the food shopping. My dad loved my mother.
Dad loved lobster. I remember for his last Father’s Day, I bought him a 2.5 lb lobster and he loved it.

Many thanks to Connie Chesnik for providing photos, her father’s discharge certificate, and invaluable information.
Steve was my uncle. He was my father’s younger brother. How are you related to him?
Many thanks to Edward for putting me in touch with his cousin, Connie. Without his help, Steve Chesnik’s website would not have been possible. It has truly been a wonderful discovery!
